Since I was a child, my family has always celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve. We have dinner in the evening and wait until midnight to open our presents. I don't know why, but my wife's family also celebrates it this way. We are Catholic, Irish, and Latino (I'm Spanish, she's Mexican). Is it a Catholic tradition or Hispanic?

Yes we do it that way too except we open the presents right after our meal. Merry Christmas.

My family celebrates Christmas the same way. I've never thought of it. We are Mexican Catholics. Maybe it's a Hispanic-Catholic tradition.

We always opened one present on the Eve and had presents the next morning. I never remember the dinner, but apparently it's also a tradition!

I'm Catholic and we don't do that. But that could be a family thing - we opened 1 gift at midnite and the rest in the morning.

Sth americans celebrate christmas eve
im half latina so we just celebrate it on Christmas day
although the latino's also share with the Polish who celebrate on 24th
nonetheless when you celebrate it .. at least YOU CELEBRATE
