Umpires, referees & other sports officials at the college and professional level are supposed to be provided with their own locker room. This locker room is off limits to players of the participating teams and members of the general public.
After a game, officials are supposed to leave the court or field immediately as to not avoid conflict with fans or players. Ideally, they enter and exit using their own entrance.

They have their own dressing/shower areas. After they change, they hang out in a bar & get miserably plastered, and gripe about what lousy calls the other refs made. Then when they see some of the players walk through the door they sneak out the back door.
And then just to piss off the players, they leave their yellow flags on the bar.

the regulations do no longer help the referee in certainty they make the refs seem worse. with the aid of fact gamers can no longer compete for the ball (aggressive scrums, raking the ball back in play the balls, stripping) the onus is on the referee to get it completely actual with the aid of fact an errors by employing the ref can sink a team. in lots of situations the video ref makes it worse, with commentators claiming that almost 0.5 their calls are incorrect relying on the perspective of diverse cameras. they are allowed to make too many judgements with the aid of fact the on field refs are affraid to make a determination on their own in case they are incorrect. as an occasion, the video ref in rugby in basic terms adjudicates on tries or maybe then what happens on the attempt line or in purpose. In soccer, they do no longer use the video in any respect.

They leave the court before the players do, and are surrounded by security. . . I heard most go out for Donuts and Coffee, or steak and eggs.
