If you do not exclusively mean an anti virus only, then you will need an anti virus plus a few anti spy wares plus firewall plus a site advisor service , either from google or mcafee to get the overall protection needed. Apart from that use a temp file cleaner like ccleaner to remove temp files regularly, because that is the place generally viruses enter your computer via internet.
