He was an entertainer in the true sense of the word and he will be missed:( I saw him perform twice in the 90's, at Star Plaza in Indiana and at Taste of Chicago.

Some of my faves:
Get Up Offa That Thing
Cold Sweat
Say it Loud, I'm Black and I'm Proud
It's A Man's World
Talkin' Loud And Sayin' Nothin'
Pappa Don't Take No Mess
Please, Please, Please
Super Bad
Get On The Good Foot

Sooo many great songs!

I loved his music, he was extremely energetic and lively. There was nothing that could get my mom dancing like a James brown tune. And my friends still try to do their best James Brown dance impressions.

He may have had a lot of personal issues, but the was a great musician and I for one will miss him.

Rest in peace man.

Hi Mikey, I loved the way he would dance, and get into is singing. I think i liked about all of his songs. He will be missed. The sad thing about this,is he passed on, on Christmas Day. What a terrible way to remember someone's death. A Friend.

What time did he die?..

James Brown was one of a kind, may God shower him with his love and protection. James use to say "Everybody's got soul, everybody doesn't have the same culture to draw from, but everybody's got soul"

I loved all of his songs- BUT "don't be a drop out" stands out.

His energy and his grooves. He is not only the "God Father of Soul", but the "King of Rap" as well. He is also a true American original and patriot.

both kinda creepy...Brown did reformatory time and had severe substance abuse complications. i'd argue his effect on rock music besides...the guy he replaced had extra effect for confident! (lil Richard)
