My mom was suppossed to come up and see me for christmas, but my grandma got sick,so she can't come. I was suppossed to spend christmas with my dog, I was so glad i still had her, but now my dog is gone, and i just want to cry. I've called the police, and left messages with the humane society and the vet. I'm gonna stick up fliers first thing in the morning...any suggestions for feeling better tonight?

I've spent many Christmas Days alone because of being in the military or being away from home on trips. It's not easy! For you, I would call your mother on Christmas, and ask how your Grandmother is doing? Just exchange pleasantries and let them know how regretful you are that all of you can't be together. I am sure they would say the same thing to you. That would ease some of the stress on both sides of the phone!
As for your dog, it might show up on your porch at any time. Leave the front porch light on for it. If it doesn't stick up fliers in the morning. If it is cold or if you live where bad weather happens to be, I am sure your dog is with a neighbor or in someone else's garage waiting out the weather. Also check with the humane society, the next business day. Your pooch may be waiting for you, too.
As for your mood, watch a good movie on TV, make some hot chocolate and marshmellows, treat yourself to what you would want to do. Just relax and try not to worry so much about things you have little control over. Be thankful you have someone to care about and that you want to be with in the first place.

Yes! First, pull yourself together. You are talking like this is the very last Christmas you are going to ever have. Don't worry. Be happy. There are people not far from where you and I are at. And Guess what???? They are homeless and hungry, with children sleeping the back seat of what used to be their only working car. It is parked under a bridge. So, lets get one thing straight. You and I are both having a sad Christmas. But there are people who are only having bad without the Christmas. How about we start counting our blessings and we will get thru our little bit of at least a Christmas.
Go on, I bet a year from now you will look back at this Christmas and thank for another chance at a good Christmas.
Peace be with you1 Hope you find your dog.

Just stick it out.Im sorry that all those things happened to you during this time but look at it this way,you have your health and your family's health and a safe warm place to be this Christmas. Some people can't say that and have it far worse off than you do.Just be thankful for all the things you do have.Merry Christmas to you.I hope that made you feel alittle better.

Find some company in church on Christmas day. I am sad your dog has gone missing. Hope you find himand your grandma feels better.Nothing will make you feel better.Find something good to watch on t.v. or find a book to read to take your mind off your problems.

Awww, I'm sorry *hug.* I kind of know how you feel....my pet recently died, so have two of my older friends, and most of my family lives in other states and so do my friends. The one thing that has helped is this quote: "those who touch your heart are always with you," and "Love, like matter, is never lost." No matter where they are, or even if they are alive, you still love them and they love you.

i am spending christmas alone - i watched TV and drowned myself on Coke.
to make me feel better?
the thought that i am alone because i need to work to send my siblings to school is more than enough inspiration not to be sad.
