GPS stands for Global Positioning System which is actually a tracking device. If you've seen the Da Vinci Code, the one put in Robert Langdon's coat was actually a GPS.
GPRS on the other hand stands for General Packet Radio Service and is used for various data applications on phones, including wireless Internet (WAP), MMS, and software that connects to the Internet. Basically, any network connection that is not voice or text messaging uses a data connection like GPRS.

GPRS:-General Packet Radio Service which is a mobile data service available for GSM mobile phones.
