I think that some of the women are disrespected because of their gender and maybe unwilling be put in a match where you know the oppnant has an extremely unfair advantage (e.g. Umaga and Maria). However I feel if people whatever their gender are going to interfer in a match and put themselves in the firing line then why should that be ignored? I personnaly think Chyna was great, she was better than most of the men and she even won the World Championship but ofcourse it wasn't recongnised because she was female. Gender is too fluid it should be judge by ability. I wrestle men and i think it's great because you can actually get stuck in whereas with some women they just bite scratch slap pull hair (i.e. Mostt WWE DIVAs) I'll stop ranting Merry Christmas!!!

Yeah they are promoting violence. Only to get money. It is really sad that many kids look up to John Cena and he is there FU-ing women.. That makes the children think it is alright and they will act violently to women.. It's a shame.. Shame on Vince.. I love wrestling too and i get shocked when i see a woman being hit in the WWE even though it is not real, it makes others think it's real and they will do the same..
Merry Xmas to you and happy new year too..

Not just SD but also RAW. Anyone recall Maria getting manhandle by Umaga ? It not right but is entertainment.People for some reason get all fuss about it when a face diva get beat up but dont really care when a heel diva get beat.Look at it this way , in a movie , if the bad guy is a woman , and the hero is a guy , most likely it is scripted that she get beat in the end one way or the other.(Chris Tucker in Rush Hour 2 fought a girl )

I wouldnt say that they are promoting violence but I have noticed some things lately. Like with Vicky etc. I would say that are just trying to boost ratings for the heros so to speak !!! Everybody loves a man that is willing to protect a woman.

bossw I think has the crux of it... putting the woman in danger is a classic (damsel in distress, knight comes to save her) plot element.
Let's look at a prime example of it's usage- Maria gets cornered and taken out by (Umaga?), crowd hates Umaga picking on the cute innocent Maria, starts cheering for someone to come and save her... Cena hits the ring and does so. Crowd loves him for it.
Now if you want to build some heel heat for someone (make the crowd hate him more), you do a segment like this, same for the face. The crowd hates the heel (because it's NOT good for a heel to be attacking women) the crowd knows this (which is why they want someone from the back to stop it) and they cheer the rescuer (because he's saving the woman and punishing the heel for doing what he did).
In this instance, attacking an innocent woman is portayed as wrong and has negative consequences. The person doing the attacking is despised, the person who tries to put a stop to it is lauded for it.
Now we get to the Chavo/Vicki/Benoit stuff. Let's get down into it.
Hearing JBL and Chavo and Vicki go off on and try and portray Benoit as a woman beater is heel rationalization. The time he bumped Vicki was an accident. Vicki and Chavo are heels, so naturally they are going to make out the face to be the heel. JBL goes along with it as a heel announcer and to advance the story, with Cole taking the opposing view. By claiming Benoit did it on purpose, it gets the fans angry at them- Benoit is the innocent one in this arc. This isn't even a case of an "innocent" woman, because Vicki shouldn't have been on the ring in the first place.
Even though she is playing off of her neck injury, if true, she should not be putting herself in a position to further injure herself (ala on the ring or in the ring). Furthermore, if she is so scared of Benoit doing what she claims, she wouldn't be putting herself out there again. But, she is still interfering with matches. Benoit is still avoiding taking her on physically. In this case, the crowd cheers for Benoit because they know he's the innocent one, and Vicki is not. They cheer for him to do something to Vicki because she is the heel and deserves a comeuppance (not for being a woman, but for making up the lies about Benoit, interfering with his matches, and getting away with those acts).

Don't get turned off. The women need to learn to defend thierselves, they want to be wrestlers let them be it. They just need to learn how to run, because if it was me like if Umaga came running at me once he's 3 feet away from me, my shoes would be off and i'll be taking off running to John Cena.
