The antivirus programs can detect any known virus. There fore you can run a full scan to determine it. You can also use free online virus scanning provided by major antivirus companies.

If you have an anti-virus program you should start it and have it scan your computer. If you do not have an anti-virus program then you should get on. There are some great free ones out there. I am using the free version of Avast which you can find at avast.com. You should also use a firewall to protect your computer. A good free one can be found at kerio.com.

If you do not want to bother with these, you can get your computer checked for free using a variety of sites, but this will not protect you in the future. A good free scan can be found at:

Easy ten points for me now. Just go to Norton's Antivirus site. You can download a 30 day free trail of one of their antivirus programs. When you finish downloading it, then you run it on your computer and it will check for viruses. If you play your cards right, you could get up to 6 months free of downloads. Or forever. After you use the 3 free norton programs, then get another different ID for your computer and try downloading with your new ID.

Generally you can tell you have a virus if your it starts behaving doing strange things like restarting unexpectedly or is performing tasks slower than it usually does, or slower than when it was bought.
