PS: I only stopped writing because I thought you were on holiday till January 3rd... Got it wrong, obviously. I missed beating up the old grandad!!!

Why not? I would pass the Christmas spirit to everyone. It is better to wish everyone a Merry Christmas than be a Scrooge. Have a very Merry Christmas.

If you are addressing one person, you would wish them a "Merry Christmas". If it is to more than one person, for instance to that person and their family you would say: "Merry Christmas to all."
