My co worker bought me a Coach purse for Xmas present??!!!?

I was really surprised because she was just new. I appreciated it but I kind of feel bad that I only got her a necklace ( I got all my co workers necklaces from forever 21).

I was the only one she had given a Coach purse to. She said it's because we get along with each other. She's a really nice girl, and I always talk to her mom whenever she visits at work.

I want to get her something though. The Coach purse costs $150! What can I get her??? Any advice?

It is authentic. Tag from Macys and it says costs 153 dollars! And I could actually return or exchange it!

Red Flags!! I would be cautious about someone who is a new co-worker buying such an expensive gift. Of course, it may have been on sale, but even if it was 50% off, that is too much for a casual office exchange (unless you are all corporate attorneys or something like that!). She may be trying too hard to buy your friendship. Friends like that usually end up being very needy. It is also strange that the price tag was still on the gift, so you could see just how expensive it was. Most people make it a point to remove price tags from gifts...

I say, you already bought her a gift, in line with what you purchased your other co-workers. If you would like to become better friends, then treat her to lunch and get to know her better. You don't have to jump in and buy her an expensive gift. Heck, it might even be stolen.

Well, I don't know how she affords that, being new. I think she is trying to buy you off or something. It sounds too weird, if the purse is real. I guess if you really feel like you should get her something. I think in the mall they sell gift certificates for VISA, which she could use at any store that accepts visa.

It was highly innappropriate for her to get this gift for you. She sounds a bit young. You already gave her a gift which was in line with what you should have given. A thank you is all you owe her.
