Liking and loving yourself is by far most important.
You are really quite useless to others if you don't like yourself.
Liking yourself is by far the best way to attract others.
Rather than trying to build yourself up you might look for what or who in your past is pulling you down and confront it. Forgive yourself for your wrongs. Make amends to those you have harmed. Humility = being and accepting yourself then making improvements prn.
Become able to be independent of others then build inter-dependent relationships. Have goals that involve your God-given abilities.
Don't try to prove nothin to nobody. People will be drawn to you like a magnet.

Sincereity, honesty, trustworthiness. I look for these 3 characteristics first. If I'm right then the friendship would most certainly grow. If anyone doesn't have those 3, or even 2 out of 3, move on. Looks are secondary, where and how a person lives is secondary because not everyone measures up to what you would expect, and they may feel the same about you. Even street people can be friends. They may just be down on their luck, or lost their jobs, or family. Intelligence is a non-factor because both of you should learn off of each other on what is essential to keep the friendship going. Helping one another and kindness, definitely. What would happen if either one of you lost everything you had, like Hurricane Katrina victims? Now, that would be a huge test of character, and that's when you would need a good friend the most!

you know their are some odd friendships out there between people ,people can have friends similar to them and different in different ways i think its all the connection . though their aspects that are important like one person wants to help the world one thinks its fun too wreck it more unless they change each other this friendship probably isn't going to work out . i doubt things like there cleanliness comes into play me and one of my best friends are at different extremes with that she tries cleaning my stuff which i already think is clean !. but personality does a lot you usually pick friends who in some way get things the same as you and laugh at the same jokes . I've made great friendships based upon what we can fight over gives you something to discuss so that shoes being the same doesn't necessarily make a better friendship .so its probably just that connection to a person . their are some people who pick frriendsships on sucess and looks those dont really matter and those freind ships wont last it doesnt matter if you on diffrent ends if this . some quiter people like being arond loder peoplre it helps them i've alreadty diccused wanting to help and caring . people probly ned to both care . intelligance really doesn't matter i like frineds i learn from and they probly like learing from me.

I can't speak for anyone else, but the people that I like must have something in common with me so that we can communicate. It's not important what a person has materially, just that they are kind and have a pleasing personality. In other words, I like good people. This means people who are for real, not phony.

It would be common interest i would say and complimentary viewpoints, not necessarily the same but complimentary. Id say intelligence and personality would rank up there as the highest.
