transparency is spectacular? Why?

Accounting transparency is spectacular, and is one of the primary reasons some countries have difficulties attracting investment capital. Somehow I don't think that is your question, but nevertheless, uniform accounting standards and transparency are critical components of development economics.
In people, that is a more difficult question. If one is completely transparent, they may become targets to predators. A little mystery can be a good thing.
In glass and leaded crystal, I prefer a little tint to the transparency, to add color to the view. Plus, it could remind one that what appears to be transparency in other people is viewed through the spectrum of another's perspective.

I like to draw little eskimos, with spears, and igloos on transparency sheets for over head projector use. Makes me feel like a cave man drawing pictures on the walls.

i think its cool because of the chemistry. there is a material there that is impermiable but you can see through it. thee is like a billion atoms thick and you can see right through them.....
