I'm just so frustrated with high school. I really wanted to make new friends at the beginning of the year and I tried and they seemed willing but I was just too much of a coward and now I'm just so frustrated with myself and them. For most of the year so far I would try to hang out with them, you know go over and talk to them, but I've just been so frustrated and burned out lately that I just keep to myself and don't talk at all. And I know that being so aloof is probably hurting my chances but I have a hard time caring anymore. I mean I'll probably regret it someday but I'm so depressed that I don't care whether we're friends or not sometimes, and other times it just kills me that we're not friends and probably will never be friends. Should I just give up, forget it, keep to myself for the rest of the year, and move on? Or should I keep trying. I'm a senior, and I'll be graduating in 5 months.

high school is a small part of the rest of your life..graduating h.s. is a great achievemnt..and it should be rewarding! the friends you have in highschool will probably go on to college next year-friends come and go. it is sad to be alone but there are also positives to it!! honestly, you dont have to try and be popular. consentrate on your studies and finish off the year well! DON"T GIVE UP!! its better to have a few close friends anyway..you only have 5 months left!!

If you can get over your fear and do it that would be best, but if not you'll be graduating soon so you'll be hanging out in a whole different crowd depending on what you decide to do. Most people don't hang out with too many high school friends after they graduate, people tend to drift apart. Just try to build up the curage to be friends with new people you meet when you move on with your life so you don't face this the rest of you life.

I know how connecting can be frustrating. I would say try to not focus on it right now. You have 5 months left and a lot of important decisions to make. Focus on that. When you are doing your life and on top, people tend to look up and ask, how are you doing that?

It's really not worth it if you have to try so hard to keep the friends. You're better off by yourself. The whole high school image is so superficial and unrealistic. The real world isn't like that. Better people will come your way someday.

Try try but never cry. i am sure you must have heard of this forward. i know that it can be frustrating when you have no friends. but at the moment, just concentrate on your studies. if you do really well, then the whole world will be at your feet. just be yourself. be calm and free. try talking to more people. all the best. i am sure you will find your true buddy!! :)

This is a decision you should only make. It sounds you have difficulty getting what you want. Freindship should be a joyful experience if it's such a task maybe it's not worth the effort.

Just smile and wave. Keep 'em guessing. College will be a whole different scene. You are going to college, right?

keep trying!! come on! it's your last 5 months... you don't want to remember your highschool year as the dark age, right? try to find at least a friend, make him/ her as your very best friend. if not your friend, who you can count on?
