Castrol GTX high mileage oili s the best fro older cars. I have a 1995 Honda delSol that I bought with 60,000 milse on it. The car has always been perfect, but when I bought it it was seeping oil. It didn't lose much, maybe a half a court every 5,000 miles. After a couple oil changes I switched to Castrol GTX and ever since then it has NEVER lost ANY oil. I dont think that the oil stabilizer is necessary. I would just use the Castrol GTX and not worry about a thing.

Castrol has always been a good oil for me. The high mileage is just "peace of mind". I now use Q synthetic. The Lucas stabilizer is to restore wear and tear.

You've been fooled for how many years? Time to wipe the slate clean and scrap the BP (British Petroleum) oil spill product, makers of Castrol for ever. Every new car in the USA delivered from the factory with full synthetic oil in the crankcase is made by Mobil1. By now tour piston rings are stuck in the ring lands and the oil return holes behind the oil rings are partially or fully plugged. Mobil1 has a very string detergent package to clean the ring lands and open up the oil return holes slowly and safely. Castrol is nasty crap. We just finished cleaning both the crankshaft position sensor and and camshaft position sensor on a three year old Chevrolet Malibu where the owner had been using - you guessed it, Castrol oil exclusively. It was a chore to remove the black tar from these expensive sensors. Castrol, down through the years has been fined more times than all other oil companies combined for false advertising. for selling full synthetic oil when in fact is was not.

It is a good product.
The thing is that most motor oils are the same.

If you have a high mileage vehicle it might be worth it to you to pay a bit more for piece of mind, but propper maintenance will also help your vehicular lonevity.

I use synthetic in my little pickup that has 135,000 miles on it. I don't use the truck much. It used to burn some oil. At about 120,000 miles I started using synthetic and Engine Sentry in the filter and since then it has done quite well. (I love those tiny license and insurance payments!)
