Over the last year, and especially in the recent elections cycles, the Hollywood elite have become more vocal in espousing their opinions. They seem to believe that no matter what their opinion on various subject matters, that the masses should accept their words as gospel, rather than merely as opinion. In most cases, I have found this particular group to be short on fact, education and a firm grasp on reality.

So I want to know if you value the opinions of people like Sean Penn, George Clooney, or Julia Roberts (all of which are college dropouts) over those in your everyday life? If so, why?

Provide me with as much detail about what makes the Hollywood elite any more of a reliable source of information than those who exist in your everyday life.

I only give merit to those who have personally been involved in whatever they are stating an opinion on. Being a drop out doesn't determine your intelligence one way or another. Some of the dumbest people I know can be more intelligent than world leaders. Celebrity gives you a soap box but not the wisdom or understanding to know what you're preaching. It's a serious abuse of your fame to try to convince or influence others on your celebrity alone. Like D.C. most are out of touch with reality.

They have opinions just like we all do. Just because they have a forum because they have some tiny bit of fame doesn't make their opinions have any more merit than the guy at the supermarket, the checkout girls at the Piggly Wiggly or Mr. Ed. The only two things they have is access to the media and money.

And, like so many polititians, they have ZERO idea what the average American things or experiences. They lead a sheltered, cloistered life surrounded by yes men. I say the hell with the whole lot of them.

i honestly dont care what a hollywood actor says or does the only thing i care about is when the next movie or show etc. comes out . i feel actors think that people look up to them and hang on every word but if that was true the hurricane katrina comedy show would have pulled in billions of dollars but sadly it was only a few mil .

Being quite radical, I've never heard any of your so-called "Hollywood elite" say anything particularly noteworthy. I don't believe any of these people are out there trying to change any hearts or minds.

They are entitled to their opinions. just like anyone else. and if you don't like their ability to convey these opinions to the public, become a famous actor. Nobody's stopping you.

They aren't any more reliable! All Americans have a right to their view, and I am happy they have one! It has nothing to do with me as I decide for myself period!

When you go out and pay to watch them perform then they should perform! Your paying for a performance not their political view! You have paid for intertainment, not a commercial nor their political agenda!

The Hollywood elite have more credibility than FIVE DEFERMENTS Cheney.

But you are obsessed with the perceived power of say, Jeannine Garodalo, over draft dodger Bush or Cheney. Why???

No what these clowns says, has no more bearing than what anyone else says. It`s not possible to equate fame with intelligence. They can make their movies, but that`s it.
