Let me start by saying that Ryan Leaf was not that awful. What was awful was the team that he was drafted to. That '98 Chargers team was pathetic. Then look at the team Peyton Manning had to work with (ie Marshal Faulk, Marvin Harrison, Jerome Pathon). Leaf's problem was that he was such an @ss to the fans and media, and he had some injuries.
I think it's pretty rare to find a rookie QB that is ready to go right out the gate. There are going to be growing pains. John Elway is considered to be one of the best QBs of all time by some, and look at the stats for his first season. Pretty bad, but the QB position is the toughest role on the field. That's why I think teams try to bring thier QBs along slowly. Carson Palmer sat his whole first season behind Kitna before getting to start. And this season Leinert and Young were both sittin the bench early on. Same as Alex Smith last year.
So to answer your question more directly, there are a lot of factor's that will play a role on wether or not Quinn is successful at the NFL level. Any QB with the ability and athleticism that Quinn posesses can be good if he plays in the right system with solid coaching, and an organization that is patient enough to allow those growing pains I talked about before. But what will make him great is his supporting cast. No one can win games alone.

You know the more I watch football I believe it depends on the team he goes to. I have seen so many good college QB's fail on a team with bad coaching and so many mediocre QB's be succesful with a good coach. An example of a good QB who stunk in NFL is Tim Couch. He had horrible coaching and a horrible supporting cast. He was ruined afterward. Yet, Jake Delhomme is successful at Carolina due to good coaching and a good supporting cast. If Brady gets drafted by the Raiders or the Lions, he will probably fail. If he gets drafted by the Buccaneers he has a shot. If someone like the Rams, Vikings, or Chiefs were to trade up for him and let him sit a year or two I think he has a shot to be really good. I wouldn't bet on it though. The Raiders and the Lions are probably drooling all over themselves to pay him 50 million dollars and hope he is the answer to all their problems.
If Quinn is smart, he will play a John Elway or Eli Manning and refuse to sign with either of those two teams.

Some guys are great college players but just cant hack it in the pros , it does happen (leaf) however, Even tho i wish very badly it happens to Brady Quinn, I dont think thats the case, the kid has legit pro talent, it will just depend on the coaching staff, If I were him or Troy Smith Id be on my knees every night praying that I didnt go to Oakland though because that could kill their careers before they even start

You are wrong...Brady Quinn is good and he'll be the best QB out of the draft. Troy Smith, now he is the one who will be overrated and not do anything in the pros.

Hopefully the Raidiz will draft him and he can take over fumbling duties. On the bright side though, he will teach Art Shell not to challenge a call that will result in a first down for the other team no matter what. Shell is an idiot!!!!
Now give me best answer biatch!!!

no, brady is really good, look at his numbers, he wasnt nominated for the heisman for throwing picks, he single handedly kept the irish ranked, irish defense is trash, without his passing game there would have never had a running game, plus he has the size and mechanics, he has a really strong arm, very confident, can run with the ball, very coachable, can take hits, he was coached by a superbowl winning offensive coordinator, i mean come one man...i have no idea what ur talking about

Probably like another ND QB, Rick Mirer. Definitely not another Joe Montana.

its too early to judge him. however ryan leaf was easily the most horrible qb to ever play the position. i know because i live in san diego and watched the poor chargers suffer because of his lack of heart or skill. if you ever want to piss a charger fan off ask them about the "ryan leaf years" lol.
