It's just me and the couch this Christmas.

It's okay, Harold. Sometimes it just turns out that way. We can't all be near family and or friends. There is a worse kind of loneliness - having your spouse living in the same house in in a different world miles apart from you. Welcome to my world!!

I miss my family terribly and started out this evening so depressed I wasn't sure how I would make it through the night. Something told me to reach out to others who may be feeling this way and I have been online now for hours. I can't believe how much it is helping me and I hope it helps you, too.

You aren't alone on your couch - you have us and we have you! This, too, shall pass, and you will have many fullfilling holidays in the future - have faith in that. It could be much, much wors. Just turn on the news and you will quickly be remined of that!

Merry Christmas, Harold, and a Happy New Year to you.

There is nothing wrong in being alone during Christmas. If you're religious go to church. If you're not, listen to some good music, holiday music, try some holiday cooking at home. Get out and stroll aroundin the city and find out the locations where they have Christmas or holiday special lightings. Stop by some place and get some hot Spiced Rum mix drink and enjoy. Buy something for a homeless person who's sitting around in cold. Watch some comedy on TV and laugh your heart out. There is not need to feel bad. We are who we think and feel we are.
I'm alone too , But I'm doing something. Last Christmas, I had so much fun, in my entire life time. This time it's different thats all. I ended my relationship. Think positive, enjoy every moment, by yourself or with others.,

The question is why are you alone. Dont let this get you down. Being alone isnt all that bad. Being with family isnt exactly a great thing either. But here is what you can do to help yourself: it's already too late to save this Christmas but go find a group of friends you really like and hang out with them for Christmas.

I am sorry to hear you are alone at Christmas but I would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas. If you volunteered your time at a place serving meals then you would not be alone. You would also feel good about yourself for helping people.Good luck and Merry Christmas.

Ah man ... I'm sorry. Dont do that to yourself though .. I'm sure there are places you can go that are serving lunch ,, if nothing else it will just be good to be around people.

Another thing that is rewarding is offering to volunteer on Christmas. You can volunteer to help at a place that is serving food or even an elderly home or something.

Best of luck and Merry Christmas.

If I were you I'd volunteer at a shelter on Christmas Day, where they provide dinner to the homeless and the needy. You won't have time to be alone, and helping people in need will be very rewarding. Have a Merry Xmas!

You didn't say if you are alone by choice or not. I am alone this year also..but it is my choice..I lost my husband this spring to a medical problem. I have plenty of family and friends i could be with, but I've chosen to stay home with my memories and let him know that it is okay that he moved on I know in my heart that we will meet again. When it is time, I will understand why he had to leave. I miss him terribly right now. I hope you are alone by choice, but if not, lessen your burden by helping another with theirs'. God bless and keep you safe. Merry Christmas!

being alone during the holidays can be hard, but not uncommon! you could try going out somewhere you know, a lot of restraunts are open, or you could help out at an overcrowded shelter, they always appreciate extra volunteers this time of year at soup kitchens! hope your christmas turns out to be a good one, and know that you are never alone in spirit ;-)

How a Christian can be alone on Christmas?
God never leaves anyone alone.
Communion with Him is happier than with anyone else.
