I would tell them that you are having a special shopping day after Christmas because they will be able to buy at least two or three times the stuff with the money they would normally, due to all of the sales that are held after Christmas. You can make a fun day of it and have a special lunch with them before-hand and then go to a few stores and let them go wild. If you are saying you don't have any time for shopping, period, then you could give them cash and let them go shopping on-line, I guess. Make them a beautiful Christmas card telling them how much you love them. You have to have time to do that, at least. It's very important, so they know you care enough. Good luck and God bless.

It depends on the ages of the kids. Ones that are grown they will understand. Little ones though will have a traumatic effect. Christmas giving and presents are especially geared in our society towards the young. The little ones through peer pressure gauge your love for them by the way they are treated during Christmas. Although they will expect what you can afford.

If you dont have time for your kids you shouldnt have had any and should be ashamed of yourself.

Give up anything else in your life and make them number 1 = you are a disgrace of a mother and your kids will remember you with hate for the rest of your life
