It is quite possible and many do it that way, there is however a small caveat, Real Estate done properly requires a lot of learning and on the job skill refinement to reduce risk. You will be working in a business where clients will not respect your personal time if you dont learn how to handle them effeciently. Most part time agents have several years or more experience which is their choice. That choice however is much better than being full time but only busy part time. I have been an agent for over 20 years and also work as a loan broker. The hardest part for me was when I was new, allowing clients to take over my time. Once you learn when and where to set limits you should do just fine. I dont mean for that to seem like a cold answer, its just a harsh reality. Btw, I keep as busy as I need to be and all my business is by referral.

not possible because it's not a job, you are an independent contractor (your own business) and you are "on-call" by your clients according to "their" needs. I've been an agent for 9 years and started out trying to do it part time and the brokers wouldn't take me on if I did it part time. When you start out you sign a contract with your broker and the brokers want you to sit at the front desk and take phone calls at a time and day determined by them otherwise they will let you go. When working for a broker they give you 3 months to come up to speed (do your sale or two sales a month) otherwise you get your leave papers. Plus you have to start out your business with $10,000 and a new or nearly new vehicle...are you prepared to do that?

Sure, why not? I also would suggest you spend time with a professional real estate agents and also educating yourself with books, conventions, coach.
I'm a full time agent but if you need to have a job in the meantime or already have a profession you enjoy, align yourself with a professional who you can learn from in the meantime.

Do it!
All the full time agents that work for me started out as part time agents once they made more than thier "normal" job.
Just make sure you have a good plan to get started.
