Because they don't want wrong things to use it. A man will not like a pussy cat to bite it & woman dont want a rat to enter it thinking it as its pit hole....LOL....!!!!

Early man went about without clothes. As man gained more knowledge and wanted to protect himself better from the weather affecting his daily life, he learnt different ways of clothing himself. Natural functions that differentiate the sexes such as feeding a baby, postures adopted for getting rid of body wastes, specific functions such as a man's erection when aroused sexually, monthly periods of women, and other differences made man think that the two sexes need to be specifically differentiated. Thus arose the practice of covering the 'private parts' of the two sexes.
Even today, there are tribal communities where the men/women go totally nude, or the women dont cover their breasts! The movement in certain 'civilized ' societies to go back to 'naturism' is also an attempt to regain their freedom from clothing.
As another answerer has already pointed out, if one is exposed to the naked body of both sexes at all times, the curiosity presently associated with clothes covering the 'private parts' would disappear! By nature, man is more curious to know more about or see more of things that are kept hidden. People who are members of genuine nudist groups would testify to that!

I believe that this is a byproduct of a society,that is taught from birth to hide their privates for religious reasons mostly due to hangups about being seen because people are taught from birth that genital showing is taboo. I see nothing wrong with the human body though neither should you it's the way we were created!

well really i think there are so many reasoin that it would take to much typing to list them all but the most obvious reason why we cover our "privates" would be because we dont want to sexually arouse other people.it also protects those sensitive and very important areas from getting sunburnt or bitten by animals or insects.

what do u mean? in everyday life or during intercourse? if in life because who the heck does that? during sex, because it is called exatly what u said, a private part and some people are not comfortable with their goodies hanging out.

because if they didnt there wouldnt be any porn industry or sex crimes..everybody would yawn and just walk on by and not think anything about it..i worked in a strip club for several years.. believe me the guys would come in and say ..oh bet you love your job..After you look at naked people 12 hours a night then its like looking at the same wall paper everyday ..Its meaningless..

ummm..because it is seen as sacred and special. It is your own and yours only. As well it should only be shared with people who they are comfortable with and find special in their lives. I guess thats how it started and from there, it just evolved. Hope that somewhat helps..xD
