I asked t his before but please bear with me. I really need the EXACT nomenclature of what this is:
The horseshoe shaped thing that girls wear around around their heads to keep hair back. Is it a headband or a hairband, or both?

The horseshoe shaped thing you described is called a headband.

A hairband is vaguely similiar to a headband. However, instead of being horseshoe-shaped, it is completely circular. Also, headbands are made out of hard material, usually plastic or sometimes metal, whereas hairbands are made out of soft, cloth-like material.

Hairbands reach the back of your neck underneath your hair, whereas headbands don't reach that far because they're not closed.

a headband is something you put behind your ears and over your head, and a hairband is something you use to pull your hair back with.
