I am sure the study of paganism was influential to the author, but that does not necessarily mean that books and movies are pagan. Paganism is not necessarily related to evil either. Like all sets of philosophies, there are different versions and variations on the core values and beliefs. Some pagan beliefs may be evil, but some are not.

I'm a Pagan, and while I enjoy the books and the movies, it's much more like High Magick, Ceremonial Magick, or Hermeticism - - - because I don't see any religious parts or representations of the Sacred Feminine, or any things where there's magick that a character cannot do until they undergo some specified, purposeful, personal change.....
evil?
No more so than any other body of belief!!
Are you trying to offend the people you are asking questions of?

harry potter has no mention of religion whatsoever. there is no mention of gods or goddesses or even worship of these gods and goddesses or even a relationship of venerating these so called gods and goddesses. That in itself makes it not paganism.
What it is, is a great story a ficticious story, about a boy facing his own inner demons in a world that is alien to him. Much like any other young person growing up and becoming an adult. Just because there is magic involved and flying brooms does not make it evil or any of that crap, the magic of harry potter is just a backdrop for the novels. It gives Harry and his friends something they can excell at that makes them different than any other person.
It's a story of personal triumph. It's a story of adolescence. And most importantly, it is a story of good over evil....about making right and true decisions in the midst of the circumstances they are within. If that is against god, then pull my card, I don't want to go to god's library anymore.

Harry Potter is not related to Paganism. It is fantasy such as sleeping beauty, alice in wonderland and lord of the rings- all which mention magic. Paganism is word to describe many pre-christian beliefs. It is perceived as evil because you have been taught that it is evil. However a lot of the holiday christians celebrate and the symbols behind are pagan. When you light a christmas tree or hunt for eggs in easter- you are practicing pagan traditions!

No to both questions. The Harry Potter books are just a series of fantasy stories that J.K. Rowling dreamed up. In fact one would ahve to look very hard to find anything in them that was related to any current or past pagan practice. Much of her work was drawn from European folklore but that is hardly the same thing.
As fara s paganism being related to evil. It is no more so than any other religion or belief system.
Besides...good and evil are such relative concepts that they aren't even applicaple to anything any longer....

No .It is work of fiction. but if it was real then the beginning classes would have some teaching in Paganism in it. But the main goal of the School is to help Wizards with controlling their powers and finding which powers they are best at.None of this is evil in its self . Only the Christian Churchs extremists call it that.
Evil is in how you use your God given powers. This goes for any religious practice.

In a word NO.
Even the word usage in the HP series differs from those following Pagan faiths. An example is that many consider "Warlock" to mean "Oath Breaker" so to call a male Wiccan (one Pagan faith of many) an Warlock (if he's happier with "witch") is a deliberate insult.
OTOH I'd say there's something positive about a young growing boy who fights evil & anyone who thinks that is evil needs to look at the messages their protests are giving society.

Well, if "Pagan" you mean the field workers, than no. Harry Potter is not Pagan. In the olden days it was the field workers whom believed in the power, the beauty, and the pure magick of nature and praised it's bounty.
Also, Pagans are not evil. Most of them, however. Most of us believe what you send out comes back to you. If you offer love the the world, the world, in turn, offers you love back. If you offer bitterness and discord to the world, you will reap what you sow.

nicely to respond to your question actual, you could first could desire to understand what brainwashing particularly is, and the way this is been effectively employed interior the previous. in case you asked a WWII German soldier if it grew to become into okay to kill Jews for no good reason, he could emphatically respond "specific!" it quite is a fact, yet looks so loopy to you and me that this is totally just about fiction. So quite if some Christians can grow to be brainwashed via a e book, and advance extra suitable brainwashed via putting out with others who examine that e book, then quite there are others in our subculture who could nicely be brainwashed by different skill, particularly babies who're so impressionable. Brainwashing is a gadget of subculture that we are all prone to in any respect situations considering that no you will declare to have one hundred% independant theory. talking as a Christian, however, i think of this is an alarmist view which you're pertaining to, and not very mainstream. i could discourage my youngsters from entering into Harry Potter, yet i does no longer disallow it. That being reported, it does make for a good dialogue on the implements of mass media and this is impact on all persons to sway our perspectives one way or the different. What would not get reported, lined, reported, is basically as important as what does. So the actual question is, the place does the skill come from, and the way lots individuals are wielding it? the author of a e book could nicely be a respectable and actual individual with no one's harm in techniques, yet if the author themself is brainwashed (no longer implying something), then quite that comparable message is getting by. So lower back, it comes right down to who you believe. no one forces all people to grow to be pagan, and yet for some reason, the chinese language have no subject forcing you to *no longer* be Christian. i ask your self why each and every of the persecution?
