Ok, I'm a liberal so maybe I'm feeding you disinformation.

But it would probably be therapeutic for you to read some Andrew Sullivan (books or blogs) about how Bush is not a real conservative.

I'm doing this for humanitarian reasons only!

No, unless you enjoy hypocrisy. Why be a member of something that doesn't represent what you believe in? Plenty of Democrats switched to the Republican Party when the Dems went out into the far left in the 60s and 70s.

Yes, I dont like thier ideas on immigration resriction, dont agree with Farm Subisdies, Govt funds for religous charties, or wasting money on programs that do nothing for the people, and taxpayer gets rips off. Jeff Flake types, and Whitman types are the moderate republicans we need more so now. If the republican party becomes a southern party they will be trobule and they realize that now.

There are any number of Republicans who are quite dissatisfied with the current administration, yet they remain Republicans. Better to be part of the solution rather than simply say nothing and be part of the problem.

Sure you can! I have been a registered Democrat since 1970 and have disliked most of the Democratic candidates since I registered to vote. And this is a fact, not designed to start a fight. It just is...I registered after high school while I was in my USN C school.

edit: I chose to register Democrat based on my admiration for JFK and so that I could vote in the primaries. Bring on the thumbs down, doesn't change my opinion. Couldn't care less kids.

Yep. Ask Christe Whitman, the former EPA head and New Jersey governor. She's one of the last truly moderate Republicans.

She wrote a really good book called "It's My Party, Too."
