My Dad had this same problem.
I'm assuming you just upgraded to IE7 and that you have Norton Anti-virus as well. Assuming these two things...
Go into Norton, click 'options' and then "Norton Anti-virus" from the drop down menu. On the left under the bold 'Internet' header click on "Home Page protection". Then on the page that appears to the right uncheck the "Turn Home Protection On" box. Now you can change you homepage to whatever you want.
** Remember to turn your homepage protection back on after you change it to what you want!

Go back to the internet options and delete your cookies and history. Then go to your control panel which should be under start if you are using windows xp. Click on Add/Remove Programs and see if there is anything to do with msn besides the messenger if your use it and if so then delete it because it could be the problem. Dont delete anything else besides MSN things. Go back and change your homepage to www.yahoo.com ... If it still doesnt work try downloading a registry cleaner. You can go to www.downloads.com and type in Registry Mechanic and that is a good program for it. You also need a Spyware and Adware remover as that could most likely be the problem... At the same place downloads.com you can type in Spyware Doctor and you can download it. If you pm me threw yahoo then I can give you the full code for the program so it will be free. xxlxx_extremity_hottie_xxlxx . Hope this helps.

Use one of the scans below to see if your PC is infected with a browser hijacker.
All of these are ones that I personally use and all are free. After you install any of them, make sure you update them to get the full affect.
AVG Removes I-Worm/Stration · BackDoor.Generic3.GBB and .GBC · Worm/Generic.FX · Exploit.WMF
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/lng/us/tpl/v5
Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm giving it a try to see if something has invaded your computer.

Yikes, I hope you don't have a virus.
Go to the yahoo home page that you want to be your home page; then go to internet options and click on "Use current".
Hopefully this will do it for you. If not, you may have to log in as the administrator or have administrator rights.

after changing it in internet options you have to hit the aaply button and then the OK button.
Go to View then tool bars then check to see if the yahoo tool bar is checked, if not, click on it.
could be that the tool bar is compressed in the menu bars, you can find the arrows and expand it again.
good luck

Try running a spyware or adware scan. Spybot, Ad-aware, and Spyware Blaster work the best. (www.download.com)
