Six days is not too long to really be concerned. If the cramping started 2 weeks ago, it could have been from ovulation and continued as your body got ready for your period to start. Stress, weight loss, and certain medications can cause a change in your cycle. If you do not get your period at all this cycle, you may want to take a test just to be sure. Your body may regulate itself again next month.

Could be pregnancy, could be a miscarriage, you could have some sort of std (I'm not saying you do), you could also have a cyst on an ovary. Their are to many possibilities.
If you are passing clots the size of your palm, experiencing bleeding with cramps or pain in the center of your lower abdomen, the pain is severe or continues unabated for more than one day, bleeding is as heavy as a menstrual period, or light staining continues for more than 3 days you should go to the doctor asap.
When bleeding is heavy enough to soak several pads in an hour, when pain is so severe you can't stand it, or when you pass clots or grayish or pink material you should get to the emergency room for medical attention.
Other than that, it could be the type of birth control your on. The depo shot can make you bleed for what feel like forever, or not at all. The pill can make your period last longer or only a few days while still feeling the effects of menses.

If this normally does not happen then I would definetely think so. Late periods are a very good indication that you may be pregnant.
