Halloween because I am Christian and I do not believe that I should be involved in a Holiday that associates itself with Devils and Witches.

The one I don't celebrate is Valentine's Day.
Think about it. Basically, a guy who is a jerk the other 364 days of the year, is nice to a girl and gets her a gift on this one day of the year, with the assumption that she will have sex with him on that day.
It's legalized prostitution, is what it is, and I want no part of it... lol
Okay, no, that's just a little rant of mine and I'm sure there are people who hold the holiday in the spirit in which it was intended, but I'm not a huge romantic and I don't feel the need to acknowledge this holiday.

In Oz we might share some festivals as those across the pond, & there are some we don't.
OTOH I've taught my daughter that there are man different elements in all festivals. X-mas is the most obvious one, but this model works on Easter & other holidays.
With lots of overlap there are ...
The Traditional. Anything with winter symbols (hard in Oz with our usual heatwaves)
The (X-ian) Religious. The Nativity story.
(Other "Religious" can & do over lap with the Traditional)
The Commercial - need I say more.
& more.
Means she has learnt to respect other faiths & we can have a "festive season" trying not to use any symbols that disrespect other faiths.

the only holiday i recognize is groundhog day
its simple fun and according to some things i read even has a bit of scientific basis to it
i dont celebrate any other holiday because most of them are either derived directly from paganism or celebrate military aggression and violence
in any case most peoples idea of celebrating a holiday is eating a lot of unhealthy food and getting drunk which is a disgusting practice

I don't celebrate Halloween for spiritual reasons and I don't do the traditional Santa Clause and Easter Bunny thing. It's all about Christ.
