There are many people in the UK and USA that have Celtic/Irish ancestry. I do.

If you go back only six hundred years or so and count up the potential number of your ancestors if they were all different you would have more people than existed on the planet at that time.
As a result in one way or another if you go back two or three times that far any European ancestry you have would also have Celtic roots of some amount.
Likewise if each generation only had two kids and they had two kids at age 20, and all had kids and really distant cousins never married, most of the people on the planet would have that couple as ancestors.

Yes , yes and yes. For instance in the USA, a big group is the Order of Ancient Hibernians. I believe the Romans made this name for celts, meaning "Winter People".

I don't have the information in front of me, but I know that one side of my family goes way back...but the interesting thing is that I'm from the Appalachian area on the east coast...I'm both Scotch/Irish and Cherokee - both pretty full blooded...
