For me Nokia is the best, for several reasons. I find it user friendly, reliable and the services for it are better. Plus there are far more accessories for it than any other phone.
All the phones are pretty good, it depends where you are though and how your service provider system works in your country etc, as these can affect your choice of phone.
For example, one my relatives likes the Samsung because where she is located, she gets better service for it. Another relative likes Sony Erricsson for the camera features ( Cyber shot) and one of my friends like Motorola for its slim designs and colourful choices.

Motorola phones lately seem to not be the greatest. My RAZR has had so many issues. Poor signal, poor battery life, etc... The SLVR is the same. Most small phones actually have low battery life. Samsung phones seem to be pretty awesome but they don't have a lot of the great features. Nokia's were solid when I used them years ago but also lacked some features... I don't know about their more recent phones. I love Sony Ericsson phones! The only downfall is that they are only GSM. No verizon or sprint. Most newer SE phones are walkman phones which means you put MP3's, MP4's and other music files on them. Some can do certain types of video, and you can tune in FM stations. You can Bluetooth images, music, games and other files between computers and other phones pretty easily. You can sync your phone book with computers. They are extremely user friendly. Their menus are pretty standard no matter which phone you get. And they are extremely customizable. I recommend checking out their website at sonyericsson.com. The k790 has a 3.2MP camera built in. The w810 has a 2MP camera and a lot of other features. They are absolutely amazing!!

I've has a Motorla V3C cell phone over a year, and had only a couple of problems. It would stay lit up when on when I wasn't making or recieving calls. IT would sometimes not ring when someone called, but, that could've been from the hills I was near, or metal buildings messing with the signal. I even dropped it in a lake, put it on the defroster of my car, with the battery removed for a half hour, and it worked fine. I highly recommend the Motorola V3C. I know others might like other Motorla cell phones better, and there my very well be better models. But, this phone is not showing any wear and tear, and worked fine mostly.

I have two Sony Ericsson phones (models T 230 & T 105)and one Samsung (x210).
The sony phones are good with easy navigability and good storage capacity. Their batteries are very good. But the sound (ringtones) are not upto the mark.
Samsung is better than sony with a much better resolution and sound. But its navigability is not easy.
But Sony models are rather cheaper models and one must compare the prices first. I think, if the prices are same, the SE models will be slightly better than Samsung.
I have not used nokia or motorola.

I have always gone with Nokia cuz it's so easy to use and durable (I am really hard on my phone) My mom is a big fan of motorola, because it is durable, but it's not as easy to use. My husband got an LG and it never worked right. It didn't get reception indoors, so he'd always be going out in the rain to answer his call.

Motorola. I loved my Motorola phone. It got great reception and had awesome features. All of their phones are sleek and designed well. I love them. It got stolen though. Now I have a Nokia and I hate it. I feel like its so primitive.

I would recommend Nokia. I've gone thru
3 samsung's in the past month. My plan
is with cingular. Motorola's are very user
friendly. LG's have horrible reception. My
nokia's always had great reception, and
loud speaker phones. Nokia's have always
been very reliable, and user friendly.

I've had two different Motorola phones and they were both great. The first one I had for two years before I really started having any problems with it and the second one (a Razr) has been problem free so far.
