it is almost midnight and my dad said he wanted me and my brother to go bed at midnight. well at my moms house we go to bed whenever which is usually like 3am, so midnight is very early to me. he already went to bed like an hr ago so he won't kno if we are still up or not. should i follow his rules or just stay up later cause im really not tired rite now.

go to sleep, your mother should not let you stay up until 3 anyway.

If you want to show your dad you can be trusted and that u respect him and his house rules then definetely just turn off computer- lay in bed and think about things or read a little first. Im sure he can hear u typing away but doesnt want to yell cuz he doesnt get to see u all the time. Show him u still love him and respect him and do as he says. Good night and Merry Christmas!

You should be getting your tail in bed. Your father gave you instructions. He obviously trusted you to do what he said. He didn't check on you - he trusted you would go to bed at midnight. You are showing your lack of responsibility by doing what you want because you can.
This is one of the ways children chip away at the parent-child relationship creating almost war like conditions. You should cherish a relationship with your father and not break rules for no reason. Perhaps if you only slept until 9AM, you might want to go to bed earlier. It would also give you more time with your parents - which is not always a bad thing.

At your age you need nine hours sleep because your body is growing so therefore I would abide by the rules of your dad. 3am in the morning is a little late sure okay for an occcasionaL TREAT. Maybe your dad is hoping that you will abide by his rules and giving you space as a teen. I only allow my daughter to stay up exra late during holidays.

You are very sweet. But follow your daddy instructions. If today, you will not follow your daddy advice , tommorow you will not follow your husband advice.
But the problem is if you go to bed, will you get any sleep as you woke up at 12 !
