For parents, they are busy locating hidden presents. Also assembling "Santa's" gifts. Also, it's wonderful to have some peace and quiet.

Most of all though is the sense of anticipation. This falls under the category of "it's not the destination, it's the journey". It's exciting to ponder what friends and family got me. It's fun to picture myself actually cooking a turkey (Mother would be so proud). And, I find it soothing to meditate on the journey and the story of Jesus birth. Merry Christmas...

Maybe the excitement of the next morning? Maybe the non-existance of things we had in the past? Maybe the hype created around the Holiday and then OMG it is finally here. I don't know really. Everyone seems to have an overabundance of energy on these Christmas Days. Maybe the act of giving truly does something for our soul. '-) Good luck getting some sleep.

Well, this year I'm not only being Santa for my younger special needs brother (normal), but also to a family that's been living with us for the last few months (four kids, ages ranging from 3 to 14, and their parents). My mother has anywhere from 8-11 people living in her four bedroom house at any given time. So, we've spent the last two hours setting up the living room for five kids, as well as the adults.

Because it's Christmas Eve. Who really go to bed (except children looking out for Santa) on Christmas eve?

I'm still baking cookies. And washing up. But I think I'm done. For now... Since it's no longer Chirstmas Eve, but Christmas morning.

Merry Christmas!

(12:50 AM)
I will probably be up another three or four hours, too.
I wasn't witing for Santa, I was watching a movie and working on the computer.
Now I'm going to play solitaire while the second movie is on.
It just started.

I am always awake at this time so it doesn't matter that it is a holiday. It is already Christmas where I live.
