There is a tag that says "From a Secret Santa", but I have no idea who would have left it. Should I eat it anyway?
I do have a few enemies, or it could just be some disgruntled indivivual who's mad because he didn't get a Christmas bonus randomly leaving poison bags of chocolate at people's doors.
Am I just being paranoid?

It's the expensive gourmet chocolates, like the ones you pay $20+ a pounds for in special shops.

Don't eat them, just keep the memory or the tag and you'll continue with that happy face.
We don't want to see that smile dissapear from your happy face.

If you do eat them make sure to leave a note explaining what happened.
Be safe, toss them. If some one asks how you liked them just act like you have no idea what they're talking about.

Try it out on an in-law first. If they are alive 10 hours later you know it is safe to eat the rest yourself.
If they are not alive in 10 hours, hand out the remainder to rest of the in-laws.

If I had reason to be afraid of it, I wouldn't eat it. Hold on to it for a few days and see if anything is said about the candy.

Poison is unlikely, but try to imagine, just for a minute, all the terrible things that could be *done* to chocolates.
