Some grasses won't stay green during the winter. If you want a green lawn year round, plant fescue.

First off, you don't want it to turn any greener than it is that time of the year. Plants and yards need a time of "rest" to renew their root system. This is their time. Treat it right when the weather is warm and enjoy your nice, green lawn then.

Mix Green Food Coloring into a sprayer with water, Spray the yard and it will stain the dead grass green. In my town they do it to have the parks look good before Easter Egg Hunts.

Try green paint. Or if you want it legitimately green, you would need to train a bank of sun-spectrum spotlights on it for several hours daily, plus keep it above freezing. Would it be worth it?
