if you where conned out the money, you should contact the police. If they where upfront with the deal, and it turned out unfair, then take them to small claims court.

Could take them to small claims court, but you have to pay a filing fee. Is it worth it? If not, check out people you give money to. I don't loan or borrow. That is my personal policy.

Very unlikely. You may be able to take them to civil court and if they have assets you might be able to do that.

It's possible they might have to make restitution if convicted of a crime.

But your odds are slim.
