Number one, you didn't forget, you chose not to remember. Hit the computer and write her a poem or make her a coupon for a service that you can and will do for her. Better yet, sit down with pen and paper in hand and write her a heart to heart letter of all the things you love, and remember about her and the things life has delt you that you appreciate.

A homemade christmas card like the ones you most likely made for her in grade school. Include a very touching personal message. Something that you put ALOT of thought into. NOT just "Merry Christmas" "Love You". Tell her to pick a day and go shopping at the after christmas sales when she can get something she wants/wanted and didn't get for Christmas. On the day that you go shopping also take her out for breakfast/lunch/dinner and spend some good quality time with her. Mostly likely she will appreciate the little things (card) and one on one just as much as that "great" gift she will pick out. Afterall she is your mom.

Im in the exact same predicament. I think what some of the other people said about writing a heart-filled letter is a grand Idea on such short time frame.
As for me, Im going to take thier advice by using Macromedia Flash to make an animated Christmas card or cartoon or somthing. If you have any art skills, why not add a nice piece to a home-made xmas card or somthing? It may not be fancy, but its the thought that counts.

Practice a kata to perfection and do a demonstration for her. ha ha, that's a bad idea I know, how embarrassing. I trained for 5 years myself, so I know this is not a show off sport...unless you're really good at it, then by all means blow her socks off! Other than that, you're pretty hooped, no time or open stores or nothing, hmmm...maybe scratch and wins in a christmas card? There's usually a 7 eleven open somewhere.

It seems that your mom is not high on your list of priorities! I don't know your age, but I'm guessing you are pretty young. If you have a skill to make things, by all means make her something. Otherwise, beg her forgiveness for being so inconsiderate and promise to do better next time. You should hit the stores as soon as they open. Shame on you!!

Make her a gift certificate, telling her that you will do something for her. For instance, tell her that you will take her to dinner at the restaurant of her choice, or that you will clean the room of her choice. There are lots of options as to what you promise her. It's nice that you want to do something, even though you didn't remember until now.

download a printable christmas card, decorate it with some ribbon or whatever you have nice on hand and then put a nice Christmas message in it At the end of the message put an IOU, telling her that her gift will be (money to shop at the after christmas sales or later depending on your $$ situation)

Make her a Christmas card and type up a voucher stating that you will do jobs around the house that she does not not normally do. Best gift is giving of yourself. It does not cost you anything except to give of yourself.

grannybce's idea was really great. I'd go with that.
The one thing my mother always wants is a picture of us... If you've got a digital camera you can go and take a picture, maybe edit on a message and print it off.
Or maybe you can call around tomorrow and see if any picture places are open, and get a picture together.

no offense darling but its christmas eve.. and its your MOTHER!! hello?? the woman who raised you and most likely gave birth to you!! how do you just "forget" to get her something.. i mean christmas isnt about buying presents for people.. but i can tell you that forgetting about your mother and christmas all in one shot.. is definately not in the christmas spirit.. i guess if i had to think of something for you.. go through photos and make a collage of pictures of you and her or your favorite pictures of her.. or your christmass together or something to that extent.. i'm sorry but i'm in shock that you just "forgot" it was christmas. goodluck though.. i wish you all the luck in the world.
