I am overseas so I downloaded iTunes to my "borrowed" computer. When I go back to America, will the songs I've downloaded from the iTunes store onto this computer be transferrable to my own laptop at home (via the iPod)? Just wondering....

I do not think so. You will be able to listen to them on your computer but I have two laptops and the songs I downloaded on one will not upload onto the other! If you find a way to do it tell me though.

The best thing you can do is stay away from buying music from iTunes store. They set up their files so wont play in anything else but their products.
Don't get me wrong I love iPod, but I dont go to their music store just borrow CDs from your friends and family and put then into your ipod instead of buying their files.
Good luck to you and merry christmas hopefully you come back home soon.

make sure that you just make a copy of your music that you have bought from itunes. You can use your ipod as a hardrive, or make sure that you copy/burn the bought songs to a CD. You will need to 'authorize'(under the advanced menu) each computer you play your music on. You need to kno wyour password you used for itunes music store.

note: Before you leave your borrowed computer make sure you deauthorize it.

You're not meant to be able to do that, although there are work-arounds. I've never used them because it voids license agreements and all that legal stuff, but you can burn them to a disc or use the iPod as a disc and save a copy of the actual files on the iPod. I've done that dozens of times.

Yeah, you will be asked if you would like to transfer the itunes music to the computer. But only music from itunes does it ask. Hope this helps you.
