Yes, I totally agree that we should be able to get married and have the same rights. And what some people don't realize is, is that a study proved that if gay marriage is legalized it will boost the economy, which will then benefit everyone, not just us.
I think its wrong how people have forgotten about our Constitution, I bet Jefferson, Adams, and the other fine well rounded people who formed our country are rolling over in their graves right now. Like for instance (this is only an example, but yet its true) The first Amendment says & I quote "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech" of course that is just some of the 1rst Amendment, I simply put that cause look at all these christians who have had laws for them cause they think "oh well its agains't my religion so lets pass it into law what we think people can & can't do" And my point here is Bush, he is using his religion from stopping us from getting married, he is going agains't the Constitution simple cause believe it or not its cause of Bush' agenda and religion that is keeping us from where we need to be.

I don't know what responsibilities and legal ramifications you are speaking of, so this is just my opinion, as a heterosexual.......What I think is, I don't care if they want to get married. It doesn't affect my life. I think when a couple is together for a very long time, and lets say one of them gets really sick or passes away, even though they have been their partner for a very long time, they have no legal rights to say what kind of care, or to make any arrangements on their loved ones behalf.....the family of that individual can totally take charge, even if it goes against the wishes of that person, and there is nothing, unless in some legal format, that the signifigant other can do about it....I think that is wrong.....I don't want someone telling me what I can do in the privacy of my own home, as a tax paying adult, so who am I to say what people should and shouldn't be able to do, it is none of my buisness, as long as no one is getting hurt, I don't care.......

I work full-time, I pay my taxes and bills. I'm honest, hard-working, don't do drugs. I'm in a committed, monogamous relationship with someone I love completely and want to spend the rest of my life with. why should I not be allowed to get married? because some arrogant straight people think they're better than we are and think they can pass judgment on people that are "different" than they are? if 2 consenting, unrelated adults love each other and are committed to each other, it shouldn't matter what their gender, race, religion or culture is.

DEFINITELY:THEY ARE ALSO PEOPLE WHO WANT THE SAME RIGHTS:THEY DO HAVE THE SAME DUTIES AS WELL.I AM SO GLAD THAT I LIVE IN HOLLAND WHERE THIS LEGALIZED A LONG TIME AGO.
I DON;T SEE THIS HAPPENING IN THE STATES WHERE ONE IDIOT IS IN POWER:HIS NO IS WAY TO POWER FULL.
THERE SHOULD BE SOME LAWS MADE AS IN OUR COUNTRY:THERE IT IS IN RULE NO1
THAT EACH AND EVERYONE WHO IS ON DUTCH SOIL SHALL BE TREATED THE SAME,DESPITE:THE CHOICE OF RELIGION.THE CO LOUR OF THEIR SKIN AND THEIR SEXUAL PREFERENCES.WITCH DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO GO SLEEP WITH MINORS OR RAPE ANYONE.THERE ARE OF COURSE SEPARATE LAWS FOR THAT.
THAT FIRST RULE IN ENGRAVED IN STONE AND ON A HUGE STONE BENCH NEXT TO THE HOUSE OF PARLIAMENT.WE CANNOT ALLOW ANY KIND OF DISCRIMINATION AT ALL.
IF SUCH THINGS HAPPEN THE OFFENDER WILL HAVE TO PAY A HUGE FIND AND DO COMMUNITY SERVICE.
CASES LIKE THAT GET MORE AND MORE RARE HERE.
AND SO IT SHOULD BE IN THE USA TOO.
NEXT TIME YOU VOTE:VOTE FOR SOMEONE WHO WILL FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS.
GREETINGS AND MERRY X-MAS TO ALL OF YOU..

Why should one group or another have different laws that apply to them? Should people with black hair have the same laws as people with brown hair? Shouldn't people who have children be taxed more, rather than less, as they use more of a proportion of the public serivces? Religion and personal choices should have no bearing on flavor of ice cream one is allowed to purchase.

Whenever someone asks a question like this, mine is "Why wouldn't they?". Any of the reasons for not allowing them aren't substantial- the fact of the matter is that the Constitution guarantees them these rights, and one's own personal beliefs do not come into it, for America is not a theocracy.
That's all.

Most definitely....they are tax paying citizens just like everyone else and just because they choose to have sex with the same sex as them doesn't make them any different in any other way...except they are more tolerant of others and not as bigoted as some of the self righteous judgemental idiots out there.
