Yes, it's a beautiful city. Downtown is full of culture and history, and our nightlife is one of the best. I disagree with those who said you have to be fluent in French. Maybe know a decent amoutn of French, but you don't have to be fluent. I'll have you know that many people speak English. French Canadians WILL understand you if you speak english. I'm a bilingual from Montreal, and I tend to speak English whenever I go to a restaurant or a bank, etc, and they understand.

In my opinion, you should be fluent in French before you go to Montreal. Many years ago it was quite English but things have changed.

To visit, I believe it is one of the best places in Canada to see. You simply can't afford to miss it.

It is really really beautiful there...lots of old old buildings and lots of culture...but be careful, the Quebecers drive like they're in the INDY 500.
