Is there corruption in the pharmaceuticall companies and are they related to Africa? Is the story about the companies testing turberculosis drugs with serious side effects and then covering them up true or partly true? Is something similiar to this happening today?

I can speak from experience that this type of behavior still goes on. Take for instance all the recent media attention on drugs with horrible side effects never previously mentioned until disclosure was forced. In my case, I was one of the unfortunate side effects from teens using anti-deppressents. Never tried suicide before I took them, or since I stopped, but definitley tried while on them...

Yes, this sort of thing is true. John Le Carre has always been very good dealing with disillusionment. He always uses facts in which to set his fiction. He seems to be homing in on Africa lately. and his latest "Mission Song" predated a lot of what is now headlines regarding Congo leadership.

The Pharm. companies have no controls on them. They do whatever they please, even if it means experimentation on people.
