If it is booting. it is your graphics card or you need drivers .If you have usb ports, a usb converter to plug in the mouse and keyboard are available at electronics stores. If that works, you can solve your problem. Before you do that, try booting it to safe mode and try to repair from there with your install disk. Also might try disconnecting your optical drive. If the disk symbol is on. it is trying to boot. Another thing to do is enter the bios on boot and check the boot order. It may be trying to boot an empty optical drive. Merry Christmas!

Go to the manufacturers' web sites and get a free driver for those items. Install them, and the accessories should then work.

Did you try rebooting? That fixes most things. First thing I learned ten years ago was to reboot if something didn't work.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.

start it in 'safe mode' [F8 as it starts up].
You should be able [IF they work at all] to take control. Open control panel, 'mouse', & try to select the pointer you like.
