You can only have one. It is against the law to have more than one.

In most states your driver license is good in any other state till you reside there.
Is some states you can also get a license and still live in the other.
(people with more then one house)
It's when you move to another state is were most will punch your old license and give you one for that state. You have about 30 days before reporting.
You can get away longer assuming you don't get pulled over, or accident

And yes you will have to pass the eye and at least the written test to obtain the lic. Check the state DMV site for more info.

No they won't. In order to get a drivers license in any state you need two things 1) Proof of address and 2) Proof of Identity (something with a signature on it). The other part of the proof of identity is the DMV running your Social Security Number through their system to find frauds/duplicate applications. So unless you have to SSNs for some reason and proof of residence...you won't get away with it.

To answer your second question, the previous license would not stand up to scruitny. When you are stopped and from a different state, the police will contact the DMV of the issuing state to check on your credentials and will find that it was canceled when you got the new license.

You're not supposed to be able to, and in this computerized age, you probably won't get away with it.

What you can possibly do is apply for an International drivers license, and that you can hold sometimes separate from your state license.

Most people don't care unless they're trying to cheat the system somehow (proof of residency, or keep driving after a license was revoked somewhere), in which case if you get caught you're in real trouble, and you may be wishing you stayed with your original penalty.

You can keep driving with your current drivers license in different States but you will need that to renew your license to the State where you're going to live next. In California, you have many days to use your out of State license and until you pass the exams for CA drivers license, you can use your current license.

You cannot simply because the license goes to the state of which you are a resident. If you lived in AZ for 40% of the time and NY for 60% of the time, then you are technically a resident of New York. If you go to try to get a license in AZ they will tell you that you must be a resident.

they will not know i have one in two states, what is the purpose though? if you get a DUi in one state that will be pulled up so you cannot get another one , if you just want 2 lic., then you can have 2, if they find out all they will do is cancel your old one

In Illinois, in case you stick to for a driving force's license, they'll ask you the place you moved from, and run a verify to make sure what your license status is (on the spot gotcha!!). in case you do no longer tell the place you moved from, they'll run an "all jurisdictions" verify (national) and you'd be found out. great attempt, yet you are able to no longer beat the computing gadget. And in case you lie or supply fake information to get carry of a license, you are able to/would be arrested for that.
