Hmmm....with all the girls out there, dont risk it. It can potentially hurt your folks very deeply and create chaos between family members...surely you dont want all that crap going on in your family just because of you. It's really asking for BIG, BIG PROBLEMS! PEACE!!!

Contrary to widely held beliefs and longstanding taboos in America, first cousins can have children together without a great risk of birth defects or genetic disease, scientists are reporting today. They say there is no strong biological reason to discourage cousins from marrying. First cousins are somewhat more likely than unrelated parents to have a child with a serious birth defect, mental retardation or genetic disease, but their increased risk is nowhere near as large as most people think, the scientists said.

If you do kiss her, then what? Have sex with her? It is awkward I tell you. As for the case of Royalty, most of them marry their cousins or family relatives for one reason, WEALTH! They do not want to marry anyone outside their family clan for fear their wealth would diminish and go to other people. In marrying your family member, the family wealth is maintained and the family gene is preserved. That is why men get to inherit the wealth or crown than the girl. This is also common among wealthy Chinese. Search up if it is permit by your law. Think of the consequences of your action. If your family would know about it, your parents will surely blame each other for your actions. It will put a rift in your family. And if things goes wrong it is ALWAYS the guy that is blamed. What if your cousin will cry foul and accuse you of rape or something? Just becareful. There is alot at stake.

Sure, why not. European royalty (and others) married and had babies with their cousins all the time.

Just don't, you know, have a baby.

P.S. I think you'll find the Cousin Couples website that another respondent posted up there informative and helpful.

P.S.S. Hello, people. Not paying attention in history class. Until about the mid-1800s (and, think, that's not that long ago), it was perfectly normal for a person to marry his or her cousin, and not everybody went around having retarded babies. Except maybe some of your ancestors, apparently. And these two are only 17, for the love of god. THEY'RE NOT GOING TO HAVE BABIES. They're not even old enough to be considering having babies. Jeez.

I don't see the moral dilemma. Marrying cousins was once a widely accepted practice in America, Europe and else where. It is a misconception that any such union will produce offspring who are mentally ill or otherwise impaired. That it is taboo is a cultural thing, one which we in present day have come to largely accept without asking ourselves why. And its ridicule comes from fear, not anything rational. Fear is generally based upon that which we do not understand.
I'd say that if you're not harming anyone, how can you possibly be hurting them? Do what your heart tells you, kid. Just don't get caught.

Why in the world would you be attracted to your cousin? There's 6 billion or so people in this world and that's who you want to pursue? No offense but that seems a little off...relationships withing the family just seems wrong.

HA HA HA

Let me tell you that it all depends on who's side it's on, genetically speaking.

If it's from your father's side, that means you share DNA and lack of genetic diversity could further exacerbate any recessive genetic tendencies that your father's side has(i.e. sickle cell, hemophilia, or any other traits). Whereas, you're mother's side is probably genetically different than yours(unless your parents were cousins, which wouldn't surprise me), so genetically, you probably wouldn't give birth to retarded kids, but at the end of the day, it's disgusting man. Are you that hard up for some? Myspace is a great place, to obsess about random girls. Try that. Anything is better than trying to run up in your cousin.

Incest is wrong. It will destroy your future relationship with your cousin and possibly her family. Pull back from this as quickly as possible. Think of her feelings and your own as well as your own reputation -- people will be thinking: "He's that hard up for a woman that he has to sleep with his girl cousin?"
