when they are wet. Would you like to sit in a moist thick paper of underwear? Baby will let you know when he/she is uncomfortable...

I can always smell (and sometimes hear!) when my baby needs her diaper changed but about every 3 hours is the frequency. I usually change her either before or after each feeding. If you're not sure if your baby needs a change check to see if his/her diaper feels heavy/soggy or smells.

Everytime they are wet or have dirtied it. If you don't change them, they will end up with rashes and infections.
You wouldn't want to wear a wet diaper would you? Don't let the baby in one.

it does depend on how old they are. little babies, need changed more frequently than older babies. when they get older, its also easier to tell when they need thier diaper changed, cause they start to show signs of when they are wet or dirty. with little babies, i'd get them on a changing schedule, like every hour. and, ever since my daughter was born, (she's two now) i put a thin layer of diaper rash cream on her bottom after every diaper change to help prevent rashes, and to this day, she hasnt had a single rash. with babies that dont get up through the night, i'd apply a little exra diaper rash cream before you put them to bed, to prevent diaper rashes due to prolonged exposure of wetness. good luck, happy holidays!

when she is wet fior usre...have the habit of checking her more oft en not..a good rulwe of thumb is to check at least every 2 hours..tha tis about how long their lil bladders can hold things..of course..never ever leave her in a wet or soiled diaper..ever.

as soon as you notice that they are wet/poopy. please check often and pay attention to the cries your kids make when they are in this situation. you will get to know them well.. my son does not enjoy a poopy diaper one bit and as soon as hes done making the mess with begin crying angerily until i have him laid on he changing table, and start undoing his clothes and diaper.

It mostly depends on age. Babies about every hour. As their bladders mature some kids stay dry four hours. If their are wet or dirty change them. If they stay dry more than four or five hours, change them anyway.
