For life you need the following: Food, water, oxygen and shelter.
Love is neccesary for a certain type of life, however some people seem to be able to get through life without it. Some people replace love with material things and lots of them do just fine.
In addition, many people here seem confused. Love and sex are 2 different things. . . love is an emotion, sex is an act. Sometimes the two are intermingled but they can be seperate as well.

It is like asking is water necessary for living? You do not need it like oxygen but you surely need when you are thirsty. Similarly you need love when you are low in your mood, you are angry, you are upset, you feel sad, you need some one as a partner in life, etc etc. Love in real sense is always there. You are always dominated by love and all human crave it and gravitate towards love. Everybody loves oneself and others too.

hello..i always wondered this myself? there is so many different kinds of love....i think if we r born from a loving family then we see love every where....i think love makes the world a better place to live....but do we really need love to be happy? Take away love and what would this world be like?

if u r saying love as sex then my opinion's is that love is necessary but shouldn't be LUST because these r 2 diff rent name for a single name may be am wrong but what i feel that u have ask this question because of the LUST & its increasing this days

love is a very essential part of life. i want to put a question before you do you really from the bottom of your heart love your parents.i think you know it better now.all i have to say is love is the salt in your life which makes it delicious to live.imagine food without salt??????????? so love to live.
