mothers makes a good wax,,but i recommend you wait a little while before you wax it,,i do this type of work, and id let the paint cure out for at least a month or two,,before i actually put wax on it,it may appear to be good and dry right now,,but wax can affect the way it looks and may also make it soft in a few places, and when you do wax it,,use a hand motion only,,dont use a buffer on it,,this way you,ll get a good even shine on it,most modern paints will be dry enough to wax in about a month, and most of the cream waxes are good just stay with something like a touch of gold or McGuire's and you,ll be ok,,good luck with it,hope this help,s.merry x-mas.

Don't wax for 60 days. It'll seal in the fumes that need to be outgassed and not allow the paint to cure properly. The paint may even bubble up. You can wash the car and apply silicone-free polish or use a quick detail spray (but not a spray wax).

First of all, don't use a wax for 60 to 90 days after the car has been painted. Then use a carnuba wax. The brand doesn't matter. DON'T use anything with silicone in it. As `one of the other answers mentioned, there are glazes that you can use immediately. Imperial Hand glaze is good, 3M Perfectit is my personal favorite.

do not use any wax. wax's build up and yellow over time. use a polish. the best i have seen it race glaze. it is silicon free and used at the body shop i use. i think it is great. or you can use a meguirs product for local (walmart etc) avialability. meguirs gold glass. looks great i put that on over race glaze. and they can be put 0on in just a few days after paint. best to wait a week or so. after that fine.

You should read the manufacter's suggestions for waxes to use.
I do know that you should not wax a car after it has just been painted. The paint has not yet cured.
