Start broad and THEN narrow it down. That way, you wont miss any relevant or connected information either.
Know what you're looking for. Dont be vague and general. Have a clear idea of what you're looking for- A table, a picture, a govt. website etc.
Use + and - to get exactly what you want.
And use Google.

Get a google or yahoo toolbar so you dont have to go to their website to look for something so it goes faster and u should have internet 7 optimize so you can open a tab instead of opening another window which takes longer

Use Google to find a definition of a word. Search by typing "define:(your word)" with no space.
To search for a string of words that go together, type them in quotes. Say you're searching for a song that you know some of the lyrics for, type those words in quotes. Example: "cause this is thriller, thriller night". Like that example? It's Thriller, in case you didn't know.
