Next fall, I will be attending college but I don't know what to major in. I want to be able to have a good paying job in an IT-related field working for any large firm; such as a corporate bank, or something business-finance related. I was thinking to major in computer science and minor in business or finance.. I have been told that there are no more computer science jobs though... what should I do?

Why wouldn't there be any computer science jobs? That is one of the hottest fields. Get your computer science major if that's what you love. Even if you don't end up in the finance world, there should still be a job when you are finished.

But if you really want to do the finance world, maybe you should major in business or a related major.

Or better yet--double major in computer science and business.

A mistake that a lot of students make is assuming that they need to know exactly what they want to study the second they get to college.

You seem to know that you want something business related. Look for schools with strong business and technology programs. At my school, Temple University, there is actually a "Business-undecided" program. Don't rush into anything. Take some core business classes and see what you like.

College is expensive (and four years of hard work) so make sure you are studying something that YOU love. You can make money doing anything as long as you are passionate.

good luck!

I don't see how there are no computer science jobs. There are still computers. However, ask yourself what you like to do. That will help give you an answer.
If you like business I would major in that, too. You can go on to get a Masters degree later in either one if you find you need to.
