According to History classes in high school, the Native Indians GAVE UP their land, not understanding what the Scrip was - they were used to the land being free, and didn't understand the meaning of a little piece of paper as being a deed to the land, so they foolishly lost it gambling. They could have tried to understand it better by asking the Europeans about it; however, they made that choice to play around with something they didn't understand. Sure, in a way the Europeans tricked them, but was it the White man's fault if the Natives never thought to ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE PLAYING WITH SOMETHING BEYOND THEIR KNOWLEDGE?

This earth is our 'mother', we should be respecting. Just as we should be respectful towards each other. However, u and I and everyone else on earth we are destroying her as well as each other. My husband is white (from Albany NY), he has been the best father to 3 sioux children, 11 interracially mixed Navajo children. He sat up at night to rock the babies to sleep when I was too tired, he took them to ER when they got hurt, he let them cry on his shoulder when things got bad for them, he helped them with their school work, he was the best father to these children. Where were these kids parents??? Busy drinking, going to jail..O' and also, some of the mothers were collecting welfare for their children??..and let me see during this whole time they blame the WHITE people for their problems. So RIDICULOUS, and so very ignorant!! Pure ignorancy. Get your head out of your behind and look at the real problem in the society. Infact the oldest known remains ever found in north America are that of Kennewick Man found along the banks of the Columbia River. Kennewick Man had the skull of a white man not the Asian/Indian skull.

I agree with your statement. I'm a ' pasty white California girl ' myself...yet what my ' forefathers ' did over 200 years ago is how the mind set was back in those days. You look back over centuries . . . some group of people, somewhere, some form has been overtaking other groups of people and land. It's called ignorance. What can be changed of what happened 2,000 years ago or 200 years ago ? . . . We are in the here and now and personally I'll not feel discord what some ignorant ' white ' people did some period of time back. I live in the here and now, today and my personal focus is soul enlightenment...no matter the culture, race, color, gender etc. People seem to get stuck in the past, being held emotional hostage of times past. Adults do this with their childhood, others do this with a cultural injustice . . . I am not my childhood, I am not those of 200 years ago etc...I'm my own self today and I'm ' white ', can't change that . . . what I can do is relate to others in today's world of spiritual heart and awakening. migrations of people and conquerings have been going on for thousands of years among all races. Why is everyone only obsessed with what the white man conquered? The mongols, huns, and many other non white tribes have been conquering and slaying also.

I believe it was mostly brought on by many religious beliefs, as well as key politicians pushing for a larger nation. They believed that there was nothing wrong with it because the indians were "obviously" "savages" and didn't deserve the land. (Even though they taught us a bunch about crops and stuff and basically saved the settlers' lives... ) Anyway, they had plenty of excuses and they didn't care what the indians said..
