I am about to spend my first Christmas family-free.
It was my decision, and when I made the choice, all I could think about was how nice it would be to avoid my nagging mother and pointless traditions.
Now that I'm alone in my home on Christmas Eve, all I want in the world is to be with people who I love, and love me.

Yes, spending Christmas with family is a must. Cherish your family, warts and all! My parents used to ridicule me when I was obese. Now after I've lost weight and am almost slim, they say things like "you didn't eat much pie; you want another piece?" and "Go ahead, have more candy, you only ate one piece." But that just makes me laugh and add to the Christmas memories. I cannot fathom ppl who haven't spoken to a family member for 20 years. If you can, try to make peace at Christmas time. Merry Christmas!

I drove for 8 hours to be with the family. It's just better to do that than to wake up alone on Christmas morning. You know what I mean?

I'm ditching family and helping out at the local shelter. I'd much rather tend to those that are less fortunate than spend time with people that pretend to love one another. (Family)
Enjoy your Holy-days
