If you live in Los Angeles California, I would tell you
Catalina Island. It is only a 45 minute boat ride to get to the Island.
There are many hotels and many things to do.
That is where my husband and i go when we want to get away. And also it is not expensive

It depends on where you are, the east coast, Baltimore is nice, Charleston, SC is also very nice.
