I think what you've got are "nordic" trails, which is cross-country skiing, not the same as "alpine" (downhill, usually at a resort, with ski lifts and such).

You can go to Chatahochee and do cross-country skiing, but if you want a resort for alpine skiing, you'll have to head quite a bit further north.

On edit: I note you filed this under snowboarding. I don't think you'll be snowboarding in the Carolinas, but maybe I'm wrong. You'll have to get yourself at least up to New Jersey/New York, or Massachusetts.

It's in NC and it is down hill.The nut who said it was a cross country trails is wrong man.It's not a big slope but it's fairly nice.Sugar and Beech Mtns are a lot better though.
